According to Ditconary.com, procrastination is defined as the act or habit of procrastinating, or putting off or delaying, especially something requiring immediate attention. Basically it means that a task or action is due or needs attention and instead of doing your work right away or in a timely fashion, you put it off for a later date.
Many students will put off writing their composition papers which is a bad idea, because this gives them less time to properly compose, revise, and edit their paper. If you make a plan to do a little work every day before the due date than the work will not seem as challenging or everlasting. Do as much work as you possibly can when given class time or free time so that those days before it is due you can edit it and relax.
Some say they do better under pressure but for the most part many crack and fail under pressure so you should not put off your work. Writing a paper is a process that has many steps included into it, that need time to do correctly. Most people cannot do all of the steps properly the night before the paper is due and turn in a good paper.
By waiting to do your paper you are leaving yourself open for computer failure, printer malfunctions, or any other type of thing to go wrong and then you are unable to turn it in. As you can see by the picture the boy’s computer has a huge error on the screen and if he had not waited he could have had that fixed and still turned his paper in on time. It is a bad habit.
