When a peer reads your own personal literary work, there should be clarification that this person is reading to analyze and corret any mistakes in the paper. It is vital that you're peer is aware the importance of the perfection of your paper. Many times you will find that the peer you have chosen to read your paper doesn't really care that much to pick apart the work, but rather just compliment on how well you wrote the paper. Either way it is a good assurance that you aren't the only one working hard on your composition work. If it is necessary, you may have to have multiple people review your work for a thorough and efficient improvement.
If you're peer does not disappoint you in the corrections, you paper may benefit from the corrections. The discussion that you and the peer have after correcting each other's papers may bring completely new ideas in to your work. You may also want to read your peers paper to compare and contrast your literary works, and realize the different styles of writing while reading other people's work.
It might also be useful to read other types of literary media, from different authors and different types of topics. This would be a great opportunity to expand your vocabulary and experience different styles of writing in certain situations. It would be a good idea to to start reading blogs, journals, books, magazines and news feeds.
